Delroy Peterson was called home to our Lord on Wednesday, August 7, 2019, at the Ortonville Area Health Services Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 12, at the Mundwiler and Larson Funeral Home in Ortonville, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Pastor David Tonn will officiate, and burial will be in the Clinton City Cemetery.
Delroy Charles Peterson was born to Rosena Virginia Parrow Peterson and Hartwick Carl Peterson on July 1, 1946, in Morris, MN. He was a bright, beautiful baby boy with deep brown eyes. His parents said he was the best baby and little boy they had ever known. At around three years old, the disabilities were becoming apparent. Delroy attended Clinton Elementary School and learned to read and write. Seizer episodes would eventually take these abilities away from him.
Delroy loved living on the farm and when he moved from the family home, he would so look forward to his visits back to his family. He helped care for the farm animals and pets. No one could ever call him lazy as he pulled his weight with the chores.
Delroy was friendly and kind to people he met, and they came away better people having known him. He will be sorely missed by his sisters, brothers, nephews, nieces, aunts, and friends.
Delroy lived in Cambridge, Willmar, Ortonville, and made his way back to Clinton, MN, where he lived until his death.
He is survived in death by sisters: Joyce Howell, Aloma (Allan) Gourlay, Aleta Kvatum, and Alesa Burke; brothers: Gene Peterson and David Peterson; nieces, nephews, cousins; and aunts: Gloria and Lorraine.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Howard Peterson; and brothers-in-law: Gene Howell and Carey Burke.
