Dawn Derry, age 55, of Ortonville, died on Friday, February 18, 2022, at Ortonville Area Health Services Hospital in Ortonville, MN.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 25, at 11:00 AM at Abiding Faith Free Lutheran Church in Ortonville, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Odessa, MN.

Dawn Marie (Westlund) Derry was born on February 28, 1966, in St. Paul, MN, to Raymond, Sr. and Marion (Baker) Westlund. She met Paul Derry in 1985, and they moved to Ortonville in 1990.

On September 3, 1987, Dawn was united in marriage with Paul in Milbank, SD. Their son, Carl, was born in February of 1987.

Dawn was a homemaker and stay-at-home mother. Paul passed away in 2019 and Dawn moved into Fairway View Neighborhoods in 2021.

Not much of an outdoors woman, Dawn liked to do things like play cards and take trips to the casino. She enjoyed her family card group and loved to play a good game of Yahtzee. Dawn was an amazing cook and loved to prepare big holiday meals and invited anyone and everyone. She was also a member of Abiding Faith Lutheran Church in Ortonville.

Dawn is survived by her son, Carl (Jamie Grajczyk) Derry of Ortonville, MN; grandchildren: Taylor, Tiffany, Tori, and Carl James; brother, Kurt (Sandie) Westlund of Big Stone City, SD; sister, Brandy (Jason) Asher of Stacy, MN; sister, Darla Brown of Clinton, MN; brother, Darrole Henton of St. Paul, MN; sisters-in-law: Angela Doren of Sioux Falls, SD; and Ann (Tom Ledoux) Staples of Inver Grove Heights, MN; brother-in-law, Billy (Chris) Derry of Cottage Grove, MN; along with many nieces and nephews.

Dawn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul Derry; and brother, Ray Westlund.
