Darwin VanHout, age 49, of Milbank, SD, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Milbank, SD. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Fr. Brian Eckrich will celebrate the Mass and inurnment will be at St. Lawrence Cemetery in Milbank.

Darwin Tracy VanHout was born on February 4, 1974, in Milbank, SD.  He was the youngest son of Joseph and Diane (Folk) VanHout.  Darwin attended school at Koch Elementary School, and Milbank Middle and High Schools.

Darwin spent his life in Milbank, where he so enjoyed driving around and visiting with anyone and everyone.  Darwin’s two greatest passions were hunting and fishing, both of which he greatly excelled.

Darwin will be missed by his surviving family; brothers: Myron VanHout of Wilmot, SD; and Joe (Jane) VanHout of Salem, SD; sister, Lori (James) Adler of Woodland Park, CO; along with nieces and nephews: Junior, Jesse, Heather, Shawn, Jordan, and Jake; and great-nieces: Tosha and Tarah.

Darwin was preceded in death by his parents; and sister-in-law, Laurie.
