Corey A. Annett

April 3, 1973 — December 7, 2022

Formerly of Milbank, SD

Corey A. Annett, 49, of Mesa, Arizona, went home to be with the Lord on December 7, 2022. Corey was born April 3, 1973, to Richard and Nancy Annett in Milbank, SD.

A memorial service will be held at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank, SD, on Friday, March 10, 2023, at 1:00  p.m. for friends and family to celebrate his life. Pastor Melanie Reiners will officiate. Burial will be in the Milbank City Cemetery at a later date.

The service will be livestreamed and recorded and viewable below this obituary.

After graduating high school, Corey lived in New Hope, MN, for several years then later moved to Arizona.

Corey had a dry sense of humor and a passion to put a smile on every face he met to make everyone’s day brighter. Because of his love for others, he made a point of sharing the gospel of Jesus with all people he encountered. In an effort to be positive, he would frequently share his favorite quote: Yesterday is history, Tomorrow is a mystery, Today is a gift, That’s why we call it the Present.

Corey had a tender heart for cats so he volunteered with 4 Paws Animal Rescue (Sun City, AZ) to help them find their forever homes. Some of his other interests included playing cards like rummy, bowling, watching movies (Forrest Gump was a favorite), listening to music, helping people diagnose computer problems, playing computer games, building his stamp collection, and cruising in his VW Rabbit when he was in high school.

Corey touched so many lives and is greatly missed by his family and friends.

Corey is survived by his mother, Nancy Annett of Waubay, SD; sister, Lisa Annett of Litchfield Park, AZ; brother, Calvin (Tammy, and her children Luke and Cheyenne LeBrun) Annett and nephew, Tyler Annett of Leota, MN; nephew, Jordan (Hannah) and great niece, Brealyn Annett of Fargo, ND.

He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Annett; grandparents: Irwin and Lucille Annett; grandparents: Lloyd and Irene Kahler; and cousin, Scott Davis.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to 4 Paws Animal Rescue in Sun City, AZ, Lions Club International, or the American Cancer Society.  These are organizations that Corey felt strongly about.
