Clara Jeanne (Harvey) Andrews was born on October 28, 1934, in Graceville, MN, to James and Clara (Weick) Harvey. She grew up in Graceville and graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 1952. Following graduation, Jeanne moved to Minneapolis, MN, to attend Minneapolis Business School. She worked as a bookkeeper at Ewald Dairy for several years before moving back to Graceville in 1961.

On August 26, 1961, Jeanne married Lyle Dale Andrews. She owned and operated Lyle’s Tavern. After selling the tavern, Jeanne was a bookkeeper for Carlson Oil Company and later managed CC Café.

Jeanne was a tireless worker. Following an intention to retire, Jeanne helped at the Graceville Golf Course and served as Graceville Township Clerk. She was a very active volunteer in the Graceville community and in Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Jeanne was an excellent cook. She and her treasured quilting friends created many beautiful works.

Jeanne enjoyed time with her sister, Rosie, and their friends participating in local golf and bowling leagues for many years. When she finally retired, she fulfilled her sense of adventure and took many bus trips across the United States with her brother, Jim, and many friends. She loved gardening, playing Bridge, and talking with young children. She enjoyed reading and was a member of Friends of the Library.

Left to cherish Jeanne's memory are her children: Lori (Mark) Schermers of Holland, MI; Doug (Wanda) Andrews of Otsego, MN; and Julie Bauer of Pipestone, MN; four grandchildren: Taylor Schermers, Kadin Schermers, Sam Bauer, and Alex (Anna) Bauer; one great-grandchild, John Bauer; along with several nieces and nephews who she cared for deeply.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Lyle; son, Bill; sisters: Dorothy, Marion, Darlene, Pat, and Roseanne; brothers: John and James; and son-in-law, John Bauer.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Friends of Graceville Library Foundation or Big Stone County Food Shelf.
