Carleton Anderson

Carleton Anderson, age 80, of Benson, MN, formerly of Ortonville, MN, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at CURA of Willmar Nursing Facility in Willmar, MN.

A graveside service for Carleton will be held at a later date. He will be buried next to his wife, Judith, at Mound Cemetery in Ortonville, MN.

Carleton Norbert Anderson was born on July 13, 1946, in Ortonville, MN, to Errol and Alberta (Ihm) Anderson. He grew up in the Ortonville area where he developed a love for farming.

A dedicated farmer, Carleton devoted his life to agriculture, embracing the challenges and rewards of nurturing the land he loved. His hands, weathered by years of toil, told the story of a man who found joy in the simple rhythms of rural life.

On April 16, 1989, Carleton was united in marriage with Judith L. Skaarer in Ortonville, MN. The couple made their home in Ortonville until 1992. They moved to Watertown, SD, for two years, then resided in Clarkfield, MN, for an additional two years. In 1996, Carleton and Judith moved to Benson, MN, where he lived until his passing.

Carleton is survived by many nieces; nephews; and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Judith, in 2018; parents-in-law: Elvin and Lillian Skaarer; and sisters-in-law: Doris Schwandt, Beverly Novy, and Elaine Aden.
