Bonnie Lou (Morrison) Hans was born in Frazee, MN, on February 20, 1942, to Jesse and Marjorie (Thymian) Morrison. She was raised in Odessa, MN, where she attended 12 years of school and graduated in 1961.

When Bonnie was a junior in high school, she met the love of her life, John “Bud” A. Hans. They were married at the Methodist Church in Odessa, MN, on August 26, 1961. Their marriage was blessed with two fine sons: Peter Lee and Paul John Hans. After the boys went to school, Bonnie worked as a waitress at Mr. Bud’s Drive-In and the Matador Supper Club in Ortonville, MN, where she lived after her marriage until they moved to Wahpeton, ND, in 1994.

Following retirement in 2002, Bonnie and Bud became full-time RV’ers until 2014, when they purchased a home in Lake Havasu City, AZ.

Bonnie had many hobbies. She loved to read books, make stuffed animals, sew counter cross stitch patterns of beautiful angels, and bead many pieces of intricate patterns for jewelry.

Bonnie also loved to travel. She visited many places all over the United States with her husband in their RV. Bonnie went on several bus tours with her mother and eight Princess Cruise Line tours with her husband, John. She enjoyed going to dances and spending evenings out with her family and friends.

Bonnie was not without many challenges and hard times concerning her health. She was struck with Polio at the age of six and needed many back surgeries starting at the age of ten. Bonnie also suffered with breast cancer in 1999 and after surgery, remained in remission until 2020 when it came back again and was put back in treatment. In 2012, she underwent brain surgery for Essential Tremors – so many hurdles.

All who loved her were amazed at her strength and determination. She never complained, smiled and joked all the time, and was always up for joining in any fun thing no matter how she felt that day.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, John “Bud” Hans of Lake Havasu, AZ; son, Peter Lee Hans and wife, Peggy, of Wynne, AR; granddaughter, Jacy Lynn Hans-Green and her husband, Steven, of Kansas City, MO; step-grandson, Jeremy Danekos of Wynne, AR; sister, Colleen Backstrand and her husband, Karl, of Ortonville, MN; brother, Tom Morrison and his wife, Judy, of Harlowton, MT; sister-in-law, Carol Sherer and her husband, Jim, of Ortonville, MN; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceding her in death were her son, Paul John Hans; mother, Marjorie Morrison; father-in-law, John O. Hans; mother-in-law, Signie Hans; and brother-in-law, Reid Hans.
