Beth Ann Brown, 71, of rural Big Stone City, SD, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at St. William’s Care Center, surrounded by her family after a brave battle with cancer.

A prayer service will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank, SD. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Rev. Dr. DeVern Schwenn will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery near Milbank.

Beth Ann (Angerhofer) Brown was born on March 6, 1953, in Milbank, SD, to Arthur and Delores (Hyatt) Angerhofer. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church near Milbank. A graduate of Milbank High School in the Class of 1971, Beth went on to pursue a career in the newspaper industry. She began at the Valley Shopper, then worked for the Ortonville Independent and Cenex, later spending a few years at the Granite Falls Newspaper in Minnesota. In the early 2000s, she returned to Milbank, working for RJB Trucking Company and eventually the Grant County Review, until her health led to her early retirement. After her diagnosis, Beth remained strong and never gave up her fight against cancer. 

On September 29, 2001, Beth married Robert “Bob” Brown at Central Church in Milbank, SD. The couple made their home near Big Stone City, SD, where they shared many happy memories fishing, boating, and camping. Beth also enjoyed gardening, baking, reading, and spending time with her beloved dogs, Sugar and Maggie. Above all, she cherished her family, especially her grandchildren. 

Beth will be forever loved and deeply missed by her daughter, Melissa (Jason) Mohr of Sioux Falls, SD; step-children: Gary (Joy) Berry of Milbank, SD; Robert (Audrey) Berry of West Fargo, ND; and Russell (Bobbi) Brown of Watertown, SD; her grandchildren: Jared Tillman of Sioux Falls, SD; Tyler Tillman of Sioux Falls, SD; step-grandchildren: Jessy Mohr of Sioux Falls, SD; Justin Mohr of Sioux Falls, SD; Travis Berry of Milbank, SD; Justin (Brynne) Berry of Milbank, SD; Paul Berry of Fargo, ND; Brianna (Paul) Coady of Fargo, ND; Aspen Brown of Watertown, SD; and Brooklyn Brown of Watertown, SD; her sister, Diane (Keith) Grabow of Milbank, SD; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; and many beloved friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert “Bob” Brown; her grandsons: Hunter and Brett Tillman; and her sister, Donna (Daryl) Grabow.
