Audrey Louise Harms was born on July 4, 1943, in Grant County, SD, to Forgus and Martha (Dockter) Hooth. Audrey was one of three children and the only daughter born to Forgus and Martha. She grew up working alongside her brothers at their family farmstead, where they raised cattle and hogs and grew grain.
Audrey graduated from Corona High School in 1961. On February 10, 1967, she married her loving husband, Gary Harms. Their marriage lasted almost six decades; they were married for 59 years.
Audrey and Gary had two daughters, Amy and Sheri. As a family of four, they had a dairy farm where they milked cows and raised alfalfa, corn, and beans. Audrey was a homemaker. She loved to help on the family farmstead, cook for her husband and children, and clean for her family.
Before getting married and starting a family, Audrey worked at Milbank Mutual Insurance Company for many years, where she helped many customers with their needs. She later went to work for Hardware Hank, then Coast to Coast. At both establishments, she loved serving customers and enjoyed talking with them as well.
Left to cherish Audrey’s memory is her husband, Gary Harms of Milbank, SD; her children: Amy Harms (Jeff Scott) of Watertown, SD; and Sheri (Gunnar) Tumlinson of Burnet, TX; and her grandchildren: Wyatt (Emily) Tumlinson of Burnet, TX; and Garrett (Carleigh) Tumlinson of College Station, TX.
Audrey was preceded in death by her mother, Martha; her father, Forgus; and her brothers: Dennis Hooth and Lloyd Hooth, who she loved dearly.
