Alice Radermacher

Alice Radermacher, age 89, of Ortonville, MN, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at Fairway View Neighborhoods in Ortonville.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, September 11, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Ortonville, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Inurnment will be at Mound Cemetery in Ortonville.

Alice Irene (Wollschlager) Radermacher was born at home in Vernon Township of Grant County, SD, on January 24, 1934, to Bruno and Agnes (Roggenbuck) Wollschlager. She attended Vernon Country School then attended Revillo High School and graduated with the Class of 1953.

Following high school, Alice chose to live in St. Paul, MN, and worked full-time as a nanny for a family who had her nanny for them between her junior and senior years of high school.

On April 30, 1955, Alice was united in marriage with Charles F. Radermacher. The two made their home in Minneapolis. In 1959, Alice and Charles were blessed with their first daughter, and they were again blessed with a second daughter in 1963.

While raising her daughters and keeping her home, Alice worked part-time until the girls were in school. She then went to work at Minnesota Natural Gas Company and at Hopkins Super Value as a cook. In 1999, Alice and Charles moved to Ortonville after his retirement.

Alice was an active member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Ortonville, MN. She was also a member of many organizations in the Ortonville community such as Bowl of Love, Red Hatters, Christian Women, Central Park Restoration, Crafty Critters, and Birthday Club.

Loving to do anything with her hands, Alice loved crafting. She handmade cards and enjoyed cooking and baking. Alice also did some small flower gardening. She loved playing cards and a variety of games with neighbors, friends, and family. In her younger years, Alice enjoyed bowling and softball, but most of all she loved to dance. Her biggest love was Elvis Presley and his music!

Left to cherish Alice’s memory are her daughters: Terri Albers of Ortonville, MN; and Patricia (Christopher) Kemp of Cape Canaveral, FL; two grandchildren: Jacob (Jessica) Albers and Justin (Nicole) Albers; four great-grandchildren: Oscar and Penelope Albers; and Lucy and Henry Albers; sisters: Sr. Rita Wollschlager, Jeanette Ferris, Margaret (Edward) Hoffman, Teresa (Mike) Kemen; sisters-in-law: Katherine Karges, Jeannie Radermacher, and Phyllis deRosier; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Charles “Chuck” Radermacher in 2005; sisters: Agnes Pillatzki, Lucy Karels, Marie Nilsson, and Elizabeth “Liz” Radermacher; brothers: Jim Wollschlager, Ray Wollschlager, and Eddie Wollschlager; sisters-in-law: Kaye Wollschlager, Velma Wollschlager, and Rose Ann Wollschlager; and brother-in-law, Norbert Nilsson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to CentraCare Hospice or to a charity of your choice.
