Ahlica McClellan

Mundwiler Funeral Home announces the death of Ahlica Rae McClellan, age 41, of Ortonville who died Tuesday, June 14, 2016.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 24, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at New Life Baptist Church in Ortonville with Pastor Philip Ostlund officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Thursday at the church and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service on Friday.

Ahlica Rae Sime was born on July 18, 1974, to Robert and Jackie (Buck) Sime in Perak, Malaysia. She attended and then graduated from the Graceville High School in 1992.

She was united in marriage with Doug Steltz on June 2, 1992, at the United Methodist Church in Clinton, MN. This union was blessed with nine children: Eric, Raeleigh, Nicholas, Adam, Jordan, Maggie, Jacob, Ryan and Riley. Ahlica attended college in Brookings, SD at South Dakota State University, then later at the University of Minnesota-Morris. After school, Ahlica worked for Someplace Safe in Morris and Ortonville, MN. She then started working for Big Stone County as a Domestic Abuse Advocate. Ahlica later married Duncan McClellan on November 7, 2009.

Ahlica enjoyed reading, watching movies, motorcycle rides and horses. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family at the family cabin near Danbury, WI.

Left to cherish Ahlica's memory are her husband, Duncan McClellan of the Twin Cities; 8 children: Eric (Lindsey) Steltz of Appleton, MN; Raeliegh (Gerrick) Steltz of Milbank, SD; Nicholas Steltz of Ortonville, MN; Adam Steltz of Ortonville; Jordan Steltz of Ortonville, MN; Jacob Steltz of Ortonville, MN; Ryan Steltz of Ortonville, MN; Riley Steltz, of Ortonville, MN; three step-children: Jeri, Michaela, and Tristan McClellan; parents: Robert and Jackie Sime of Chokio, MN; grandchildren: Anabella, Addison, Dixie, Eva, Dayna, Sydni, and Ellise; and siblings: LeAnn Heimer and Dennis (Anna) Sime.

Ahlica was preceded in death by one daughter: Maggie.
