Adeline Louise (Schmidt) Taffe was born on December 31, 1928, in Graceville, MN. She was the youngest child of parents, Joseph & Matilda (Gunder) Schmidt. Addie grew up on the family farm east of Collis, MN. She attended school in Collis and told stories of riding her horse, Speck, to school. She graduated from Graceville High School in 1946. Addie worked in the Graceville Drug Store for several years.

Addie was united in marriage with Lawrence Joseph Taffe at St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Barry, MN, on June 12, 1956. They were blessed with six daughters. She was a homemaker and served as the City Clerk for the Village of Barry for many years. She was a member of CCW, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and TOPS. Addie one of the original members of the coffee klatch group at C-C Cafe, where she made many lifelong friends. She was very active in the Graceville Senior Center. Addie enjoyed flower gardening, canning (she was known for her famous refrigerator dill pickles), fishing, traveling with her family, shopping, camping, crafting, and listening to music. She loved to collect angels and always wore an angel pin.

Affectionately known as "Gram" to her granddaughters, they often teased her that she had a better social life than any of them! They all had fun shopping together. She taught them the art of canning and the names of all the flowers in the garden. They were all proud of her when at the age of 86 she learned how to text on her flip phone. Gram was a classy dresser who always wore her lipstick. She gave the best hugs and always remembered everyone’s favorite food and made it for them when they came to visit. Addie was very kindhearted and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Mama "T" will be dearly missed by her family.

Addie is survived by daughters: Mary (Mike) Andrews, Clearwater, MN; Janette (Randy) Sigler, Brookings, SD; Lisa Kateley, Richfield, MN; granddaughters: Lindsay (Keith Eisenmenger) Andrews, Megan Andrews, Sadie Persell; son-in-law, Steve Persell; brother-in-law, Herb Beyer; sisters-in-law: Lois Taffe and Doris Taffe; her "coffee ladies"; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
