Ardys Luvilla (Pruno) Weber was born on September 3, 1924, on the family farm in Polk County, WI. She was the daughter of Clarence and Amy (Paulson) Pruno and the oldest of seven children. She moved to Marvin, SD, with her family.

On August 16, 1941, Luvilla was united in marriage with Nicholas Weber in Tacoma, WA. Together, they resided in Tacoma for three years while Nick worked in the shipyard as a welder. They then purchased a farm near Strandburg, SD. They started their farm from scratch and worked side by side, milking 15 cows by hand and working in the field. Together, they were blessed with 66 years of marriage and one son, Donald, who was born in 1942.

In 1978, Nick and Luvilla moved into the town of Strandburg and resided there for 30 years. Luvilla worked as a cook at Strandburg Public School for 11 years; the students would say that every day was like Thanksgiving with Luvilla preparing the lunch. She later worked as a CNA at Whetstone Valley Nursing Home in Milbank for over 33 years. She enjoyed making quilts with the Strandburg Ladies Group.

After Nick passed away in 2008, Luvilla resided in Milbank, SD. She later moved to Park Place where she resided for about six years.

Luvilla had many hobbies and interests. She loved gardening and growing flowers. She planted many evergreen trees on their farm, and she cared for the raised garden bed at Park Place. She loved all flowers, especially yellow roses. She enjoyed spending time with her family and cherished the time her family gathered for her 95th birthday. Luvilla was a wonderful cook and hostess. She stayed very active well into her later years. She spent time doing ceramics and playing games. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, Scrabble, Pinochle with the Webers in her younger years, and Bingo at Park Place.

Luvilla’s family will remember her servant’s heart; she always wanted to help others and never complained. She was a faithful member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and was an attentive Bible Study participant for many years.

Luvilla is survived by her son, Donald (Carol) Weber of Milbank, SD; three grandchildren: Todd (Sherri) Weber of Scottsdale, AZ; Scott (Dawn) Weber of Moncks Corner, SC; and Jason (Trisha) Weber of Plano, TX; ten great-grandchildren: Erin, Garrett, Jessica (Garrett), Colby, Peyton, Carmen, Cecilia, Moriah, Joshua, and Sophia; and her sister, Corrine Bliven of Ferndale, WA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nicholas; four sisters; and one brother.
