Linda Lou (Weed) Hall was born on June 6, 1950, in Watertown, SD, to Robert D. and Betty Lou (Stotz) Weed. She lived and attended school in Watertown until fourth grade. Linda and her family moved to Henry, SD, where she finished school and graduated from Henry High School with the Class of 1968. After high school, she moved back to Watertown to start her first job in June of 1968. In 1975, Linda moved to rural Milbank and was united in marriage with Richard E. Hall on December 30, 1976. Together, they raised three sons.

Linda worked in healthcare as a Certified Nursing Assistant at hospitals and at nursing homes. She worked as a bartender at the Eagle Tavern and at the Milbank VFW Club. Linda also did some waitressing at cafes in Milbank.

Always gracious and sociable, Linda was always finding new friends wherever she went. She was captain of her dart team for two years and loved to play Bingo. In November of 2000, Linda and Richard moved into Milbank where they lived until they retired.

While living at St. William’s Care Center, Linda served as the President of the Resident Council, and while initially hesitant to take on the role, proved to be a strong advocate for her resident friends. They would go to her when they were troubled and she would listen, writing down what they had said. She was “the eyes and the ears” of St. William’s, and would come to the monthly Resident Council meetings armed with a stack of the notes she had taken, some addressing concerns of the residents, some offering praise to the staff for their wonderful care.

Linda is survived by her stepsons: Scott Hall of Ortonville, MN; Todd Hall of Ortonville, MN; sisters: Robin (Tom) Strai of Huron, SD; Kim Weed of Sioux Falls, SD; and Becky (Bruce) Albrecht of Aberdeen SD; brothers: Robert (Judy) Weed of Piedmont, SD; and Lauren Sanders of Florida; niece and nephew: Tori Jankord and Trevor Jankord; along with many more nieces, nephews, and friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Richard “Dick” Hall in 2018; son, Dana Robert Weed in 2010; and sisters, Pam Woertank and Tracy Weed.
