Gerald DuWayne Moe

Gerald DuWayne Moe, age 71, of Wolf Point, Montana, died at Northeast Montana Health Services in Wolf Point. Services will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, Summit, SD. Rev. Justin Neugebauer will officiate and burial with military honors will be held at the Sisseton Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 18, 2017, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the church, and will continue one hour prior to the service.

Gerald DuWayne Moe was born on June 1, 1946, in Sisseton, SD. He was the son of Otto and Mary (Block) Moe. He attended One Road School and worked on the family farm. Gerald and his brothers were known for shearing sheep to earn extra spending money.

Gerald later joined the U.S. Army, serving for two years with one of those years serving in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1971.

Upon his return to Summit, SD, he worked as a police officer for a few years. He then moved to Watertown, SD, to work at a cement plant. He later took a job with Vigen Construction as a crane operator. His career took him to many places across the continental United States, Canada and Mexico.

In his free time, Gerald enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and tinkering with go-carts and small engines.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Ann Moe of Wolf Point, MT; children: Marshall (Kay) Moe of Elkton, SD; Justin Moe of Chicago, IL; Cody (Dorah) Moe of Watertown, SD; Cory Moe of Sioux Falls, SD; and Sasha Moe of Oregon.  Gerald and Ann adopted and loved two daughters: Hennessey Fowler and Haleigh Fowler, with the adoption process in place for baby Brooklyn.  Also surviving are step-children: Rebecca Fowler of Wolf Point, MT; Eric (Ronnette) Fowler of Lewistown, MT; Dani Jo Bushman of Wolf Point, MT;  sisters: Mary Wyman of Summit, SD; and Linda Hoss of Sisseton, SD; brother, Charlie (Marcy) Moe of Minnesota, MN; and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Terry (Wangen) Moe; brothers: Michael Moe and wife, Belinda; Larry Moe and wife, Sharon; and Otto Moe, Jr.; sisters: Ardyce Hoss and husband, Wenzel; and Lannis Goestch; and brothers-in-law: Ferdinand Hoss and Kenny Wyman.
