She grew up in Jamestown and attended school there until the 11th grade. She moved again with her family, this time to Bismarck, ND. She met George Carman during her senior year in high school. While attending school, they decided to get engaged the night of their senior prom. They graduated with the Class of 1955 and were married in Bismarck, ND, on July 21, 1956. To this union two children were born: Jessica and Jolene.
Bonnie and George stayed in Bismarck for a few years and later moved to: Devils Lake, ND; Sioux Falls, SD; Mobridge, SD; Rugby, ND; and many others.
