In 1956, she married Neil Storm, and together they had five children: Larry, Tim, Cindy, Scott and Sheila. They later divorced and in 1983, Janice moved to Sioux Falls, SD and remained there until 2012 when she moved back to Milbank, SD to be closer to family.
Janice’s working career started at Trevett’s Café. She later worked as a radio dispatcher for the Sheriff’s Office and at Milbank Mutual Insurance Company. In Sioux Falls, she held a variety of positions that were all very fulfilling, including: a women’s abuse shelter, the Children’s Inn, as a job coach for the mentally ill through Southeast Behavioral Health Center, as a receptionist at YWCA, and also at the Inn On Westport (an assisted living center) at the time of her retirement. After retiring, she worked part-time as a receptionist at Ronald McDonald House and at Active Generations Senior Center in Sioux Falls. Janice enjoyed working with the public and helping others, which all these jobs allowed her to do.
In her free time, Janice enjoyed dancing, traveling, doing crafts, and home decoration. She also loved antique and flea markets, doing Sudoku, and listening to gospel music. During the spring and summer, she loved walking and enjoying flowers. Janice was an active member of the Red Hat Society in both Sioux Falls and Milbank.
