Willard Reinke

July 20, 1929 — September 25, 2008

Willard “Willie” Leroy Reinke was born July 20, 1929, to John H. and Esther (Johnson) Reinke in Ortonville, MN. Willard was baptized and confirmed in the Methodist Church and was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church. Willard attended country school until the eighth grade.

He has been a life long resident of Big Stone County, and since 1989, he has resided at the Lakeside Apartments in Ortonville. Willard led a great life; he met many people and made many friends along the way. He made friends very easy, and it was not uncommon when we had him out around town for people to come up to him and visit. Willard enjoyed all of those visits. His smile and easy going way will be missed by all who knew him.

Willard worked at numerous jobs throughout his life, and he worked with his good friend Lloyd Hegge for Hegge’s Sanitation for many years. Willard enjoyed the outdoors and in later years he did yard work for people.

Willard enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins play baseball and was an avid card player. He also liked to spend his time playing word search and crossword puzzles.

Willard is survived by his brothers: Allen Reinke of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Mel (Betty) Reinke of Ortonville; sister Lorrayne Spring of Atlanta, Georgia; brother-in-law Gerald Koenen of Ortonville; sister-in-law Theresa Reinke of Alabama; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Willard is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Raymond, Murlin, and Leonard Reinke, and sister Elaine Koenen.

Arrangements are with Larson Funeral Home in Ortonville, MN
