Sue Kasuske

September 7, 1945 — April 15, 2010

Funeral services for Sue Kasuske, age 64, of Milbank, will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 20th, at the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Milbank. Reverend Keith Bicknase will officiate. The organist will be Carol Ydstie and the soloist will be Larry Tietjen. Mrs. Kasuske died on Thursday, April 15th, at her home.

Family members are asked to meet in the church fellowship hall by 10:30 a.m. Tuesday to attend services. Visitation will be at the Emanuel-Patterson Funeral Home in Milbank on Monday from 5-7 p.m. and in the church Tuesday one hour before services. Honorary pallbearers will be James Pauli, Janelle Hanna, Vera Easterby, Charlotte Green, Janice Vreim; and all of her friends and employees at the Back Door Pub. Active pallbearers will be Dale Pauli, Gary Pauli, Larry Pauli, Greg Kasuske, Richard Buttke, Jr., Chris Reil, Ryan Weber, and David Thiele. Burial will be in the Milbank City Cemetery.

Sue was born on September 7, 1945, in Milbank, to Marwood and Dona Marie (Gulck) Pauli.

She graduated from Milbank High School in 1963.

Sue married Loren "Sonny" Dahlgren on June 23, 1964, in Manhattan, KS. To this union, two children were born, Lisa and Nelson.

She married Harold "Bud" Kasuske on January 25, 1980 in Webster, SD. Sue was the co-owner/operator of the Back Door Pub in Milbank for many years.

Sue was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She also sponsored softball teams and pool and dart leagues.

Survivors include her husband, Bud; one daughter,
Lisa (Johnson) Joi, Strandburg, SD; one son, Nelson Dahlgren, Watertown, SD; three grandchildren: Kristi, Dylan, and Kody; three great grandchildren; four brothers: Dale Pauli, Kalispell, MT; James, Larry, and Gary Pauli, all of Phoenix, AZ; one sister, Janelle Hanna, Sioux Falls, SD; four stepchildren: Judy Buttke and husband Richard, Twin Brooks, SD; Carol Reil, Milbank; Don Kasuske, Appleton, MN; and Charlotte Green and husband David, Milbank; fourteen step grandchildren; sixteen step great grandchildren; and one step great, great grandson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents.
