Shirley Heffernan

Services for Shirley Heffernan will be held Saturday, July 6, at 10:00 a.m. at Mundwiler and Larson Funeral Home in Ortonville. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Shirley Marie Heffernan was born on July 14, 1926 in Ortonville, MN to Clifford and Marie (nee Hausauer) Oswood.

Shirley grew up and attended school in Ortonville. She was married to Clarence Heffernan on June 11, 1948 in Webster, SD. During the past 50 years Shirley has lived in Lake County in Illnois with her most recent home being in Lake Villa, IL.

While in Ortonville, Shirley enjoyed the "Cashtown Crew' and always loved having fun and spending time with her family.

Shirley passed away peacefully on June 29, 2013 in Libertyville, Illinois.

Shirley will be deeply missed by her dear children: Wallace "Skip" Heffernan of Lake Villa, IL; Susan (Keith) Mielke of Liberty, SC; Frances (Jerome) Preston of Ingleside, IL; and Catherine (Albert) Buck of Round Lake Beach, IL; her brother, Bernard Oswood of Ortonville, MN; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Clarence "Mickey" Heffernan in 2009; her grandson, Russell Young in 2013; her siblings, Margaret Henniberg, Annetta Stenzel, Betty Finch, Orville and Donald Oswood; and by her parents.
