Sandra Monroe

September 8, 1957 — December 22, 2009

Sandra Kay Monroe was born on September 8, 1957 to Dennis Monroe and Geraldine (Monroe) Wadsworth in Portsmouth, Virginia at the US Navy Hospital.

Sandy grew up in the Willmar area and attended the Willmar Public Schools. Sandy moved to Rochester, MN in 1996. She worked for Rochester Meats for ten years. She lived in Rochester for 12 years, moving to Ortonville in April of 2008. She was employed by Wadsworth Management Properties, working various jobs within the company.

On October 31, 1977 Sandy was blessed with a Halloween treat, two months early when her daughter Bridie was born. Because she was premature, Bridie was welcomed into this world at the University Of Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. Her only child, Bridie was Sandy’s Number One.

Sandy was a jack of all trades, she could fix anything. She loved the outdoors, especially fishing. Sandy also enjoyed “dumpster-diving” looking for treasures that she could fix up. She enjoyed the company of her pets; she had three cats and one dog. Sandy was a simple woman, who loved her family and spending time with them.

Sandy is survived by her mother, Geraldine “Gerri” (Finstad) Wadsworth of Spicer, MN; daughter Bridie (Jeremy) Christopherson; 5 Grandchildren: Mackenzie Monroe, Elizabeth Petersen, Timithy Christopherson, Alyssa Christopherson, and Logan Christopherson; Step-Mother Jimmy Monroe of Pensacola, FL; siblings: Rick (Carol) Monroe of Pensacola, FL, Paulette (Harold) Spletter of New London, MN, Terri Monroe of Pensacola, FL, Nikki Monroe of Pensacola, FL, Kerri (Rob) Hutchinson of Pensacola, FL; special friend Karen Wick and Cousin Vicki Johnson.

Sandy is preceded in death by her grandparents; father Dennis Monroe; and one brother Thomas Wadsworth.

Larson Funeral Home in Ortonville is in charge of arrangements.
