Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Gramberg, age 73, of Milbank, and formerly of Watertown, will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 28, at the Valley Baptist Church in Milbank. Pastor Dennis Webber will officiate. Ruth died on Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at the Golden Living Center in Milbank. Family members are asked to meet in the church fellowship hall by 10:30 a.m. Monday to attend services. The pianist will be Betty DeBoer. Visitation will be at the Emanuel-Patterson Funeral Home in Milbank on Sunday from 5-7 p.m. and in the church Monday one hour before services. Pallbearers will be Justin Amdahl, Dale Amdahl, Ben Ellsworth, Brad Ellsworth, Vinton Remington, and Luke DeBoer. Burial will be in the Summit City Cemetery, rural Summit, SD

Ruth was born on September 3, 1936, in International Falls, MN, to Reverend William and Cedella (Bendix) Ellsworth. She graduated from Highmore High School in 1955.

She married Wesley Gramberg on September 21, 1958, at Sisseton, SD. The couple farmed near Summit, SD. They moved to Summit in 1977. Ruth worked in the kitchen and was a helper at the Summit Schools. She also was a cook at the I-29 Lounge at Summit. Wesley died in March 1979. Ruth moved to Watertown in 1986. She entered the Golden Living Center in Milbank on Feb. 14, 2005.

Ruth enjoyed reading, baking, embroidery, and puzzles.

Survivors include two sons, Steven Ellsworth, Mobridge, SD, and Loren Gramberg, Watertown, SD; three daughters, Eunice Amdahl, rural Summit, SD; Janice Remington and husband Ron, Zimmerman, MN; and Jeanette Underwood and husband Gary, Milbank; twelve grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two step-daughters, Karen Shepherd and husband Kenneth, Webster, SD, and Joan Shepherd and husband Raymond, Elkton, SD; five step grandchildren; eleven step great grandchildren; and two step great, great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, William (Bill) Ellsworth, Jr., two grandsons, Alan Amdahl and David Gramberg; and two sons-in-law, Aron Jones and Gary Amdahl.
