Robert Wennblom

January 3, 1930 — November 6, 2010

Robert Manford Wennblom was born on January 3, 1930 to parents Manford and Ida (Jacobson) Wennblom in Clinton, MN. Robert was baptized in March of 1930 at the Methodist church in Clinton, MN. Bob grew up on a farm six miles west of Clinton. Bob attended school in Clinton where he graduated with the class of 1947.

On September 8, 1951, Bob was united in marriage to Delores “Lorie” Hein at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Graceville by Father O’Connor. They were blessed with two children: Linda and Guy. They made their home west of Clinton where they farmed. In 1964, they moved to River Falls, Wisconsin where he owned and operated his own trucking company, Wennblom Trucking. Many times, Lorie would accompany him over the road and coast to coast.

In 1995, Bob and Lorie retired to the farm in Clinton until they moved to their home in Graceville. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and gardening. Bob enjoyed everything that had to do with the outdoors; he was a “faithful waterer” of his plants and flowers. Bob liked hobby farming and politics. The most important thing to Bob was his family. He especially loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Bob passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at his home in Graceville; he had lived to reach the age of 80 years.

Bob is survived by his wife, Lorie; daughter Linda (Charles) Chandler of Hager City, WI; daughter-in-law Jane Wennblom; 3 grandchildren: Tracy (Paul) Frevert of Clinton, MN, Katelyn Wennblom of Hager City, WI, and Kyle Wennblom of Hager City, WI; great-grandchildren: Dustin Sterling of Wahpeton, ND, Chelsea Sterling of Clinton, MN, Kassidy Sterling of Browns Valley, MN, Aaron Sterling of Clinton, MN and Brittney Frevert of Clinton, MN; sisters-in-law: Theresa Lanie of Beardsley, MN, Phyllis Campbell of Indigo, CA, Angeline (James) Harrington of Palm Springs, CA and Anna Marie (Elton) Jones of Chicago, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

Bob is preceded in death by his son Guy Wennblom; parents Manford and Ida; and sister-in-law Marie Nelson.
