Robert Vogt

Robert Louis Vogt was born September 15, 1936 to Louis and Gretchen (Fecht) Vogt in Graceville, MN. Robert was baptized at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Chokio, MN by Pastor Fred Meske, Jr. on September 27, 1936. He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Johnson by Pastor Paul Kuske on May 28, 1950.



Robert attended School District #35, Trinity Evangelical Lutheran School, West Central School of Agriculture, and the University of Minnestota. He was united in marriage to Shirley Fuhrman at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Johnson by Pastor Phillip Janke on March 8, 1958.



Robert was active on numerous boards at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. He served on the Big Stone County Association of Townships Board, the Moonshine Township Board, and was a member of the Flying Club and the Gun Club.



Robert’s hobbies include hunting and fishing, camping, golfing, and flying. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren.



Robert died on February 4, 2009 at Holy Trinity Hospital in Graceville having lived to reach the age of 72 years.



Robert is survived by his wife, Shirley; his children: Barbara (Duane) Moeller of Duluth, MN, David (Diane) Vogt of Chokio, MN, and Beth (Tom) Kock of Johnson City, TN; 10 grandchildren: Stephanie (Eric) Kiero of Duluth, MN, Joshua Moeller of Fargo, ND, Emily Moeller of Moorhead, MN, Rebecca Vogt of Mankato, MN, Kayla Vogt of Moorhead, MN, Nathan Vogt of Chokio, MN, Daniel Kock of Knoxville, TN, Carissa Kock of Watertown, WI, Jonathan Kock of Johnson City, TN, and Adam Kock of Johnson City, TN; two sisters: Jane (Eugene) Fuhrman of Graceville, MN and Linda (Orrin) Cole of Canby, MN; three sisters-in-law: Norma Damerow, Laverna Nelson, and Marlene Fuhrman.



Robert is preceded in death by his parents Louis and Gretchen Vogt; parents-in-law: Walter and Louise Fuhrman and Gertrude Fuhrman; brothers-in-law Mosy Nelson, Allen Fuhrman, and Harvey Damerow.
