Robert Serocki

Robert Michael Serocki was born on April 20, 1945 to parents Paul and Joan (Lewandowski) Serocki Sr. in Sisseton, SD. He grew up with three brothers and four sisters on the family farm in Browns Valley, MN. Bob completed high school and then went on for two additional years of schooling. He met Sylvia Stueve at a dance at the Coliseum in Browns Valley and they took an immediate liking to each other. They were married on June 7, 1969 in Collis, MN. To this union were born four children; Tammy, David, Janet, and Andrea. Bob and Sylvia celebrated thirty-seven wonderful years together before his passing.



Bob joined the Army, eventually reaching the rank of Sergeant, E-5. After he left the service, Bob continued to be active in the Wm. Krensing American Legion Post #58 for many years. Bob always worked very hard during his life, whether it be dry walling to working for the Valley Telephone Company. Bob was also a member of the Fr. George Campbell Knights of Columbus Council #1391 for many years.



In his free time, he enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. On each of his kid's first communion, they received a brand new fishing rod and reel. He loved sharing his love of the outdoors with his children and his grandchildren. Bob was well known for his sense of humor and the practical jokes that he loved to play on people. Bob and Sylvia loved to dance the waltz and polkas together until his health concerns prevented him from continuing.



Bob passed away Friday, August 18, 2006 at the Lake View Memorial Hospital in Two Harbors, Minnesota. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Joan Serocki Sr., and his brother, Jerome "Spud" Serocki.



Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Sylvia; one son, David; three daughters, Tammy (Dave) Ebben, Janet (Rick) Teberg, Andrea Serocki and her fiancA�A� Andrew Nelson. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Marissa, Macey, Amanda and Ashlyn Ebben, Dylan and Andrew Teberg, and Katlynn Joyce; two brothers, Joe (Patsy) Serocki and Paul (Kathy) Serocki Jr.; four sisters, Fran (Lawrence) Renelt, Kathy (Orell) Yost, Patt (Leon) Westbrock, and Mary (Ben) Beyl; and one sister-in-law, Gloria Serocki. Bob is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, as well as many close friends.
