Reinhard Brausen

Reinhard George Brausen the son of Reinhard Brausen and Marie (Bleichner) Brausen was born May 20, 1955 in Little Falls, Minnesota. He was baptized May 29, 1955 by Fr. Joseph Percio at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Hillman, Minnesota. Reiny grew up and attended grade school in Hillman. He attended and graduated from Portland Oregon High School in 1973. He graduated from Brainerd College. He entered the Armed Service in August 1975 serving in Korea and was honorably discharged January 16, 1978. Reiny was united in marriage April 6, 2005 to Lorelei Ellen Shore in Jamaica. He made his way through Morrison County owning various businesses and opening his heart to many people along the way. After his marriage to Lori they bought a business in Graceville, Minnesota and decided to spend the rest of his life in Graceville.
Reiny was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphatic Leukemia in the summer of 2006 and had gone through numerous chemo treatments. In May he received a cat scan that showed the leukemia was in remission. On May 23rd he was brought to the St. Cloud Hospital after having problems with his speech. On June 17th he was diagnosed with the JC Virus (John Cunningham Virus) which caused the onset PML (Progressive Mulitfocal Leukencephalopathy). Both of which are fatal brain diseases.
Reiny belonged to the American Legion Post #297 in Graceville, Minnesota. His hobbies were pool, golf, fishing, playing games and cards, and especially spending time with children and grandchildren.
He is survived by wife, Lori of Graceville, MN; children, Tonya (Nathan) Ray of Zimmerman, MN, Peter Brausen of Annandale, MN, Matthew Brausen of Annandale, MN, Isaac Minnerath of Foley, MN, Angie Brausen of Remer, MN, Cassie Brausen of Annandale, MN, Brandon Kuklok of Little Falls, MN; three grandchildren; Kaleb, Logan, Dylan; mother, Marie Howard and step-father, Del Howard; sisters and brothers, Rosemary (Ron) Ross of Ft. Mohave, Arizona, Bonnie Eastman of Hillman, MN, Lynn (Lyle) Rahn of Pierz, MN, Lori (Keith) Gohl of Pierz, MN, Cathie Tembruell of Pierz, MN, Mary (Tim) Thomas of Pierz, MN, George (Karen) Brausen of Ipswich, S.D, Thomas Brausen of Onamia, MN.
He is preceded in death by father, Reinhard Brausen; brothers, Robert and Jarold Brausen; grandparents, Apollonia and George Bleichlner, Frances and Jacob Brausen.
