Patrick Piechowski

Patrick Allyn Piechowski was born on August 7, 1939, in Graceville, MN, to parents, Vincent and Mary (Boyle) Piechowski. As a young boy, he was baptized, confirmed and received his first communion in the Church of St. Mary in Beardsley, MN. Patrick attended country school District #35 before attending Browns Valley High School, where he graduated in 1957.
Following his graduation, Patrick moved to the Twin Cities where he worked for Sears Roebuck and Co. While living in Minneapolis, Pat met Jackie Damberg and the couple married on August 29, 1964, in Minneapolis, MN. The couple made their home in Minneapolis where they were blessed with two children, Todd and Michelle.
After Jackie passed away, Pat returned to Beardsley to be close to family and friends. Upon returning to Beardsley, Pat worked for Experience Works assisting with Senior Meals. Pat also helped out at Bobby Jo's where he treasured the friendly banter with those that came in and also those he worked with.
In his spare time, Pat enjoyed fishing especially with his father-in-law. He was an avid sportsman and participated in all sports in High School. While working for Sears, Pat played on the Sears Softball team that traveled all over the country and would return on his off weekends to play independent baseball in Browns Valley. When not busy with playing ball, Pat cherished time spent with family and friend playing cards and attending dances.
Patrick was a member of the Church of St. Mary in Beardsley, MN, and also a member of the Browns Valley Knights of Columbus. In 2006, Pat moved to the Grace Home Nursing Home in Graceville, MN, where he continued to make many new friends. Pat will be truly missed by those that loved him and called him friend.
Patrick passed away Thursday, July 12, 2007, at MeritCare Palative Care Hospital in Fargo, ND, reaching the age of 67 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Mary; wife, Jackie; and an infant brother, Vincent John.
Left to cherish Patrick's memory are his two children, Todd (Jill) Piechowski of Buffalo, MN; and Michelle (Curt) Griffin of Andover, MN; brothers, Dennis "Jerry" (Janice) Piechowski; and Richard "Dick" (Dolores) Piechowski; sisters, Mary "Kitty" (Sam) Ocel; and Beverly "Bunny" (Charles) Chalupnik; six grandchildren; two aunts, Jean Benolkin and Isabella Piechowski; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
