Myrna Kerstein

Myrna Berneaus was born on May 11, 1931 to parents Marinus and Alma (Olsen) Nielsen in Fenton, Iowa. Myrna was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran Faith in Emmetsburg, IA. She attended school in Iowa, but in 1946, Myrna moved with her family to Minnesota, where she finished her schooling attending night classes.



On October 03, 1948, Myrna was united in marriage to Wilfred Kerstein. Together they farmed around the Clinton, MN area a few years and then lived in Ortonville and Montevideo, where Myrna was employed at Woolsworths and S&L stores. Wilfred and Myrna later moved to St. Cloud where they resided for many years. While living in St. Cloud, Myrna worked at the Sauk Rapids High School. After Wilfred's retirement they returned to Clinton, MN. Myrna enjoyed crocheting, sewing and reading. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Clinton, MN.



Myrna passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at the Ortonville Hospital. She had reached the age of 73. She is preceded in death was her husband, Wilfred Kerstein; parents Alma and Marinus Nielsen; her husband?s parents Hazel and Fred Kerstein; sister Mae Nielsen; daughter-in-law, Linda Kerstein; and three infant siblings.



Myrna is survived by her son Kerry Kerstein of Tucson, AZ; two daughters, Darlene (Lynn) Seppman of Bloomington, MN and Diana Nielson of Edina, MN; six grandchildren, Brian Seppman of Eden Prairie, MN, Wendy (Larry) Gallucci of Eden Prairie, MN, Sara Kerstein of Tucson, AZ, Amber Kerstein of Tucson, AZ, Alexis Nielson of Edina, MN, and Nicole Nielson of Edina, MN; one sister Marlys (Bob) Swigerd of Wahpeton, ND; one brother, Howard (Glenda) Nielsen of Marietta, GA; two brothers-in-law, Merlyn Kerstein of Clinton, MN, and Ronny Kerstein of Clinton, MN, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
