Lorraine Hagevik

Lorraine Hagevik, age 89, long-time resident of Ortonville, MN., died March 12, 2014 at River Oaks Assisted Living Center in Anoka, MN.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at First English Lutheran Church in Ortonville. Rev. David Tonn will officiate. Burial will be at Mound Cemetery in Ortonville.

Visitation will be at the Mundwiler & Larson Funeral Home in Ortonville on Sunday, March 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the funeral at the church.

Lorraine Hagevik, a life long resident of Big Stone County, passed away March 12th at age 89. She spent her last few months of life living with her daughter, Diane in Ramsey, MN and at River Oaks Assisted Living Center in Anoka.

Lorraine was born on June 14, 1924, in Akron Township, Minnesota to parents John and Helma (Hauge) Krogsrud. Lorraine was raised on a farm and graduated from Correll High School before moving to Ortonville. She was married to Jalmer Hagevik for 44 years before his passing in 1990. From their marriage came two children, Bruce and Diane.

Lorraine was a talented pianist and organist and loved entertaining family and friends with music. For a time she played organ and served at Lagoona Beach Supper Club where she worked in her younger days developing many life-long friends.

Lorraine volunteered at her church and for the American Cancer Society. She traveled to many of the major cities across the nation as well as Paris, France. She followed politics and world events daily.

Lorraine looked forward each spring to the start of Twins baseball and cherished her chance to meet some of the players and broadcasters. One of her great passions was cooking for family and visitors.



Lorraine is survived by: daughter- Diane (Terry) Geldaker of Ramsey, MN.; son- Bruce (Marvette) Hagevik of Golden Valley, MN.; grandchildren- Eric (Jill) Geldaker and Stacy (Chad) Mann both of Champlin, MN; and great-granddaughter Mallory Lorraine Geldaker; brother Robert (Angie) Krogsrud of rural Appleton, MN and numerous nieces and nephews.
