Karl Duhr

Karl Duhr, 72, of Clinton, died in the Frazee Care Center in Frazee, MN on February 2, 2013.

Memorial service for Karl Duhr will be 1 P.M. Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Karl Vance Duhr was born September 29, 1940, to parents Verlin and Edell Duhr in Graceville, MN. He was baptized and confirmed in the Clinton Trinity Lutheran Church. He attended Clinton High School where he played football, baseball, and excelled in basketball. After graduation in 1958, he attended Concordia College for 1 year.

In 1962, he married Geneva Vikre. The couple moved to California where Karl worked in the roofing industry. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters, Dawn and Julie. After several years, Karl returned to Clinton where he continued his business as a roofer/carpenter.

Karl loved to golf and was a past member of the Graceville and Ortonville Golf courses. He also enjoyed fishing and boasts of an 11 pound walleye he caught in Big Stone Lake. He loved watching sports on television, especially his favorite football team… the Raiders. Karl attended many sporting events involving his grandchildren where he could be heard telling them to "toughen up". These past years, Karl's pleasures included having coffee and playing computer games at his sister Karen's house and then heading to Ian and Tina's to spend time with his great grandchildren.

Karl died peacefully at the Frazee Care Center on February 2, 2012, at the age of 72.

He is survived by daughters: Dawn (Charlie) Sparby of Clarissa and Julie (Kerry) Zimmerman of Elbow Lake; brother, Brad (Pat) Duhr of Cass Lake; sisters: Karen Hagen of Clinton, Janet (Don) Grebin of Sioux Falls, and Nikki (Tim) Rabe of Big Stone City. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Tina, Nate, Katie, and Jay; along with two great grandchildren: Jordan and Sadie. Karl is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Verlin (Dobby) and Edell; and his brother, Steve.
