Funeral Services for Judith (Judy) Lynne Vedder will be held on Friday, July 29, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church in Ortonville. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 28, from 5 – 7 p.m., with a prayer service beginning at 6:30 p.m., at the Larson Funeral Home in Ortonville. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Father Robert Goblirsch will be officiating.

Judith (Judy) Lynne Vedder, daughter of William and Edith (Byerly) Anderson, was born on December 23, 1941 in Minot, ND. She grew up in Lidgerwood, ND. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith, which was an important part of her life. Judy graduated in 1959 from Lidgerwood High School and then attended and completed training at the Fergus Falls School of Beauty Culture in 1960.

She was married to Albert Vedder on November 24, 1962 at the St. Boniface Church in Lidgerwood, ND. In 1971 they moved to Ortonville.

Before moving to Ortonville, Judy worked as a beautician. Following their move, she worked for Holiday Gas Station, the Ortonville Senior Center, and as a Sarah Coventry Jewelry consultant.

Judy especially enjoyed spending time with Al and with their extended family. She also liked to read, do crossword puzzles, sew, bake, and can the bounty of her garden.

Judy had a love for animals and supported the Humane Society. She appreciated the importance of the Disabled Veterans and supported those organizations as well.

Judy passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at her home in Ortonville. She had lived to reach the age of 69 years.

Judy is survived by her husband, Al, and nieces Lynne (Dale) Drewelow of Fergus Falls, MN; Melissa (Jason) Egger, Colton, SD; Roxanne (Steve) Lesselyoung of Sioux Falls, SD; and nephews Dale (Stacey) Weinkauf of Milbank, SD; Monty Kadoun of Sioux Falls, SD; Ed (Kate) Kadoun of Nashville, TN; Carmen (Brenda) Hemmah of Salem, SD. She also held a special place in her heart for her great nieces and nephews – Dominic, Derek, Deven, and Machenzie Weinkauf; James and Adam Drewelow; Joslynne Sigler. Judy is also survived by her sisters-in-law Patty Kadoun, Barbara Staehnke, Virginia Hemmah, and Karen (Roger) Loberg.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Mary Weinkauf.
