Mundwiler Larson Funeral Home announces the death of Janet Wollschlager Kirschbaum, age 73, of Ortonville. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 15, 2012 at 11:00 AM at New Life Community Baptist Church in Ortonville. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 14, 2012 from 5-7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Mundwiler Larson Funeral Home in Ortonville. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday.

Janet Giese Wollschlager Kirschbaum was born on April 6, 1939 on the family farm in Swift County near Appleton Minnesota, to parents George and Geneva (Jones) Giese. As a young girl she attended country school, District 48 in Odessa Township and later graduated from Ortonville High School in 1957.

Throughout her lifetime Jan had numerous jobs including; raising her children and being a homemaker, a telephone operator, a checker at a local grocery store, a parts person at Sester Equipment, driver for an Air Freight Delivery service and completed her work career at Ortonville Area Health Services where she was proud to receive her 15 years of service pin on May 25, 2012.

Jan loved to do many things; she was a faithful member of New Life Community Baptist Church and active in many areas of the church, riding motorcycle as a member of Christian Motorcycle Association (CMA), visiting family and friends, sewing and quilting, going to garage sales and craft fairs, gardening and canning, softball, TRAM (The Ride Across Minnesota), watching Wheel of Fortune and playing Solitaire. Jan enjoyed spending her leisure time in the Big Stone Wildlife Refuge searching for shed antlers.

Jan joined her Savior peacefully at her home on Friday June 8, 2012 with her children at her side. She is survived by her children Julie Thomson, Cindy (Tim) Schwenzfeier, Jay (Jackie) Wollschlager; grandchildren: Dillon and Wesley Thomson, Josh (Lindsey) Zifko, Trevor, Maren, Solvei, Hove Schwenzfeier and Jacob and Sonja Wollschlager; great-grandchildren: Wren and Marit Zifko; brothers: Dan (Carol) Giese and Arlen Giese; brother-in-law: Bill Clifton, as well as nieces, nephews, extended family members and many loyal friends; and her beloved pets, Brandy and Dusty.

Jan was preceded in death by parents George and Geneva Giese; sister, Joan Clifton; and sister-in-law, Mary Giese.
