Florence Carrington

October 23, 1906 — June 3, 2008

Florence Johanna Ehrnst was born on October 23, 1906, to parents John Herman and Maria Anna (Volker) Ehrnst on a farm north of Beardsley. She attended and graduated from Beardsley High School, and she then went on for her teacher's degree at Moorhead State University. After receiving her teacher's degree, she taught in North Dakota, Minnesota and Montana. It was in Montana that she met Lawrence Carrington and they were united in marriage on June 1, 1935 in Plevna, MT. They made their way back to Minnesota and farmed north of Graceville. Florence was a substitute teacher in Graceville and also taught headstart. She and Lawrence raised 10 children. Lawrence passed away in 1976. At the age of 96, Florence moved to Morris and was a resident of Westwind Village until the time of her death.



Florence loved the outdoors, so gardening was a favorite pastime. She also crocheted, and became a very good cook and baker for her family. Florence most enjoyed her visits from her family and friends, and she will be missed dearly by them.



Florence is survived by her children, Lawrence (Sandy) of Red Wing, MN, Mary (Ron) Johnson of Billings, MT, Margaret (Jerry) Wilson of Billings, MT, Florence (Dick) Eisenmenger of Tehachapica, CA, Thomas (Laura) of Morris, MN, Agnes (Jerry) Miltenberger of St. Cloud, MN, David (Ellie) of Omaha, NE, Donald (January) of Graceville, MN, Janet (Vince) Kehoe of Morris, MN and Eugene (fiancA�AC.e Connie Drewelow) of Barry, MN; 28 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; 3 step great-grandchildren and 2 step great-great grandchildren; brother-in-law Paul Zauner of Ohio; many, many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence; great grandchild Danielle Schneider; daughter-in-law, Heidi Carrington; 6 brothers and sister-in-laws, Lawrence (Ree), Frank (Elsie), Herman, Henry, Joe, Ado (Clara); 5 sisters and brother-in-laws, Sister Mary Hermine, Mary (Melvin) Ludwig, Martina (Edward) Murphy; Lydie, infant Helen; sister-in-laws, Caroline (Lyle) Wilson, Alice Zauner.
