Eunice Swanson

May 10, 1933 — October 22, 2007

Eunice (Ell) Swanson was born May 10, 1933, in Odessa, MN, to Herbert and Pearl (Thorson) Ell. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith on June 18, 1933. She was confirmed at First English Lutheran Church in Ortonville.



Eunice graduated from Ortonville High School in 1951. She obtained an elementary education teaching degree from St. Cloud State in 1954. She taught school in Mound, MN and then on to Billings, MT where she met and married Roger Swanson, who was a geologist with Shell Oil Company. With this job, he had assignments in Key Biscayne, FL, Midland, TX, Libya, Africa, Farmington, NM and finally Houston, TX, where they lived for 22 years. Roger and Eunice retired first to Littleton, CO, and then to Ortonville in 2000.



Eunice loved everything and everyone, especially her pets. She was an avid reader, seamstress, an excellent cook and loved fishing with Roger. She was a very caring person and supported many charities. Eunice loved entertaining family and friends. Roger and Eunice have traveled to Europe, England, Hawaii, Alaska and many places in the lower states.



Eunice was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Gay, and nephew, John Logan.



Survivors include her husband, Roger; son Tim (Beth); daughter, Karen; sisters, Betty (Bob) Logan; Angela (Truman) Redepenning; three nieces and one nephew.
