Ethel Niesche

February 16, 1909 — March 21, 2010

Ethel Paine, the daughter of Benjamin & Mary Paine was born on February 16, 1909, in Strasburg, North Dakota. She grew up in the Strasburg area where she attended a country school. She met and married Rudolph Scherer on November 26, 1927 and they had 3 daughters, Lillian, Laura and Alice.



After the passing of Rudolph, Ethel met and married Clarence Myers of Belle Fourche, SD where they resided. After his passing, she moved back to Johnson, MN. While there, she met and married Edward Niesche and moved to Wheaton, MN. After the end of their marriage, she resided with family members until her move to the Villa Health Care Center in Mora MN; where she was close to family and friends.



Up to the age of 99 she enjoyed her passion for handy work, word finds, card games and visiting.



Ethel passed away peacefully on March 21, 2010 at the Villa Health Care Center in Mora, MN. She had lived to reach the age of 101.



Ethel is survived by her daughters: Lillian (Jack) Sims, Laura (Roy) Morris, Alice (Forrest Jr.) Rahn; 17 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 59 great-great-grandchildren.



She was preceded in death by her 3 grandchildren: Gary Bartel, Earl Bartel, and Laurie Morris; 2 great grandchildren: Cortney Staton and Michael Bartel; sons-in-law Jack Sims and Forrest “Jr” Rahn; husbands: Rudolph Scherer, Clarence Myers; parents, Benjamin and Mary Paine; 5 sisters; and six brothers.



Larson Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of arrangements.
