Ethel Doschadis

August 16, 1905 — November 17, 2004

Ethel Lee Kump was born on August 16, 1905 in Dixon, Illinois to Albert and Mary (Over) Kump. Ethel was baptized in Dumont, Minnesota in July of 1922. Ethel attended the Dumont school through eighth grade.



On April 11, 1925, Ethel was united in marriage to Ryan Doschadis in Robinsdale, Minnesota. Ryan and Ethel farmed in the Beardsley area for many years. They moved into Beardsley in 1969 and retired. They were members of the United Methodist Church in Beardsley.



In July of 2001, Ethel became a resident of Grace Home. She enjoyed playing Bingo and was a joy to the staff and residents there. Ethel was a member of the United Methodist Church Ladies Aid. She enjoyed cooking, baking, tending her vegetable garden, playing cards and Bingo, and dancing.



Ethel often recited a poem that her family thought was quite good!

"If it's warm or if it's cold, keep a-goin'. If it rains or if it snows, keep a-goin'. It's no use to sit and whine, when the fish isn't on the line, bait your hook and keep on trying, Keep A-goin'!"



On November 17, 2004 Ethel Lee Doschadis passed away at Grace Home in Graceville, MN reaching the age of 99 years, 3 months, and 1 day.



Survivors include two sons, John (and friend Betty Anderson) of Willmar, MN and Marvin (and Cec) of Williamsburg, IA. Ethel is also survived by six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.



Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Ryan Doschadis (July 1989) and her daughter, Phyllis Raw (January 1999).
