Erma Dorothy Alberts, the daughter of Howard and Christine (Berg) Goldsmith, was born October 10, 1927, in Malta Township, Big Stone County. She was the youngest of eleven children. October 25, 1945, Erma was united in marriage, to Henry Alberts. They then made their home east of Clinton where they raised their three sons. Hank and Erma farmed until retirement when they moved into town.
The most important thing in Erma's life was her family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Erma enjoyed playing cards and visiting with her friends Erma was also known for her cooking and baking, which she loved to do. Erma was a member of the Ladies Aid at the Bethany Lutheran Church East of Clinton and currently a member of the United Methodist Church in Clinton, MN.
In November of 2009, Erma entered the Grace Home in Graceville and on March 24th, passed away at the Graceville Hospital. She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
Erma is survived by her three sons, Gary (Cheryl) Alberts of Ham Lake, MN, Alan (Debbie) Alberts of Clinton, MN, and David (Marlene) Alberts of Clinton, MN; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Vernon Goldsmith of Big Stone City, SD; and all her friends at Grace Home.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hank; sisters, Helen and Alice; brothers: Arnold, Robert, Harold, Owen, Aubry, Ervin, Alpha and Kenneth.
