Delores Weinman

Delores Shirley "Lorie" (Redfield) Weinman was born on September 2, 1941, in Clinton, MN, to parents, David and Shirley Redfield. As a infant she was baptized at the United Methodist Church in Clinton and later confirmed into the Lutheran faith at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton. Lorie attended school in Clinton and graduated from Clinton High School in 1959.



On May 30, 1963, Lorie married Jim Weinman in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton, MN. Together the couple moved to Elk River, MN, where Lorie worked as a secretary for the Central Lutheran Church and also helped Jim manage a campground before working for the Elk River School District as a secretary. Lorie and Jim were also blessed with three children, Kim, Jay, and Kent.



In her spare time, Lorie enjoyed camping and traveling. Together she and Jim made trips to Alaska, Florida, Lake Michigan, Arizona, and Costa Rica. She treasured time spent with family and friends and held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren.



Lorie was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton and after moving to Elk River became active as well in the Central Lutheran Church in Elk River. She was also a member of the Faculty Wives of ISD 728. She will be truly missed by those that loved her and called her friend.



Delores passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2007, at the West Wind Village in Morris, MN, reaching the age of 65 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, David & Shirley Redfield; and a sister, Diane.



Left to cherish Lorie's memory is her husband, Jim Weinman; daughter, Kim (Rick) Greenwaldt of St. Michael, MN; sons, Jay Weinman of Buckeye, AZ; and Kent Weinman of St. Cloud, MN; five grandchildren, Devin, Jackson, Marcus, Lucas, and Rowan; one sister, JoAnn (Harold) Anderson; two brothers, Keith (Mary Jo) Redfield; and Wally (Eunice) Redfield; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
