Anniette Stotesbery

August 21, 1923 — January 24, 2010

Anniette Bernice (Martinson) Stotesbery was born August 21, 1923 in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Oscar and Anna (Lillehaug) Martinson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. In her very young years, after losing her mother, she was raised by her Aunt Dena. She attended and graduated from Clinton High School. She worked at the Clinton Creamery after graduation. On April 14, 1949, Anniette (also known as “Toots” to close friends and family) was united in marriage to Allyn Dale “Stub” Stotesbery. To this union six children were born. She was a devoted homemaker for most of her life. Anniette enjoyed handwork and embroidered a set of dishtowels for each of her children. She crocheted beautiful doilies, angels and snowflakes as well as a tablecloth for each family and prized afghans for each lucky grandchild. Every family member remembers her delicious spritz and ginger cookies in addition to her exceptional glorified rice that was a treat at all gatherings. She especially enjoyed when her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids called or came to visit. She was a life long resident of Clinton and a life-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Anniette lived at the Clinton Care Center for the last few years. When there, she was fortunate to be able to attend the Chautauqua series in which she took such pleasure since she so greatly enjoyed music.

Anniette left this world to be with her Lord and Savior on January 24, 2010 after a struggle with cancer. God bless our dear, sweet Mother, we all will miss her.

She is survived by children, Craig (Connie) of Appleton, MN, Anita (Ron) Kramer of Morris, MN, Kevin (Irfan) of Izmir, Turkey, Kelly (Patti) of Big Stone City, SD; son-in-law, Mark Christensen of Perham; 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and brother Bernt “Sonny” Martinson of Eau Claire, WI.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stub; daughter, Vicki; son, Joel; grandson, Luke; granddaughter, Carly; and brother, Clifford.
